October 5-6, 2023 locationTo Be Announced REGISTER ON THE MEMBERSHIP PAGE Election 2022 (closed)Candidates VICE PRESIDENT David Jenkins received his Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Georgia in Athens in 2002 and held a three-year postdoctoral position with the University of Georgia Fruit and Nut Lab in Byron, Georgia. Between 2005 and 2015, David was a research entomologist with USDA-Agricultural Research Service at the Tropical Agriculture Research Station in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where he conducted research on pests, diseases and beneficial organisms impacting tropical tree fruits. Since 2015, David has been the Forest Health Program Manager at the South Carolina Forestry Commission. In this position he surveys the state for native and invasive threats to the health of South Carolina’s forests and educates the public about forest health. David has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has mentored a dozen undergraduates in entomological projects. David was elected President of the Society in 2016 and has continued to serve on the Board as Executive Director since 2018. Paper/Poster Submission 2022 (CLOSED)Paper submissions will be accepted for presentations 12-minutes in length. An additional three minutes will be provided for questions.
Awards for the best papers and posters in designated categories will be recognized at the Friday Awards Lunch. The winners of each student category will receive $100.00 from the SCES. The award categories are Oral Presentation: High School, Undergraduate, Graduate (M.S.), & Graduate (Ph.D.), and Poster: High School, Undergraduate, Graduate (M.S.), & Graduate (Ph.D.).
